Chapter 919
By the time Sammy returned to the funeral home's lounge, Alex had already roused Brad awake.
Brad was slumped on the couch, his eyes heavy with dark circles. His brows were knitted tightly together, and his beautiful almond-shaped eyes carried an unrelenting chill.
His grandfather had loved Nadine so much, and Nadine had always claimed to respect him, treating him like her own grandfather. Yet, she hadn't even shown up for his funeral. How could she be so heartless? She didn't even show up to see his grandfather one last time.
Brad's eyes darkened further when Sammy returned. "Let me guess, you didn't even get a good look at their face, did you?"
The latter parted his lips, but the words never came. In the end, he didn't explain himself. Instead, he gave Brad a meaningful look and nodded.
Brad's lips curled into a bitter smile, his tone laced with derision. "Looks like I underestimated my opponent. But never mind that. My grandfather's burial is what matters most right now."
