Trevor's call came in late in the night. I raised my sleep mask to my forehead and answered his call.
I knew he was the only one that could make impulsive calls like that at that time of the night.
Either him or Grandpa.
Rachel knew better than to call me late at night, except if it was a matter of life and death.
I communicated via email with my business contacts, strictly keeping my work life apart from my personal life.
Either of the two must not interfere; that's why Trevor and I only hang out during the weekends or occasionally on weekdays–after I close from work.
"Hey," I breathed into the phone, cocking my head to the side.
"Are you asleep? Already?" He asked with a hint of surprise.
"Yes. What's up?"
"Are you sick?"
"No." I pouted my mouth.
"But your voice sounds off."
"That's because your call disturbed my sleep," I snapped unwittingly.
