Chapter 149
Nathan's POV
I was driving home when I saw Sophia standing in the middle of the road.
Alaric growled deep within me, sensing danger from this woman.
She waved at me to stop. I had to brake hard.
I didn't get out of the car. Just rolled down the window halfway.
"What do you want, Sophia?" My voice was cold.
She walked over to my window."Just five minutes of your time, Nathan. That's all I'm asking."
"I don't have five minutes to spare," I replied bluntly."Please leave."
"You're being cruel, Nathan. After everything we've been through—"
"After everything you put me through," I corrected her sharply. "I've made myself clear, Sophia. Whatever we had is over."
"Just talk to me for a minute, Nathan. Please." Sophia begged.
"We have nothing to talk about," I said. "Move away from the car."
She pulled out a small box from her pocket. "I brought you something."
"I don't want it. Whatever it is, I don't want it." I kept my hands on the steering wheel.
"It's our engagement ring," she said softly.
