Third person point of view
The sun was setting, casting a warm golden glow across the spacious living room. The quadruplets were gathered around their grandmother, Helena, who was seated on the large beige couch. It was rare for the children to be so serious, their usual energy subdued as they exchanged glances.
“Grandma,” Leo started, his voice steady but curious. He leaned forward, his small hands gripping the edge of the couch cushion. “Why don’t Mom and Dad live together?”
Helena’s heart skipped a beat. The question hit her like a bolt of lightning, but she masked her surprise with a soft smile. “That’s a big question, sweetheart,” she said gently, brushing her fingers over Leo’s messy blond hair. “Why do you ask?”
James, always the quiet observer, spoke next. “Because Mom always looks at a picture of a man,” he said, his brown eyes wide with curiosity. “She hides it, but I’ve seen her. She cries sometimes when she looks at it.”
