Eva’s Point of View
The soft glow of the bedside lamp cast shadows on the walls of my grandmother Helena’s bedroom. It was late, far past midnight, but sleep had eluded me. I sat on the edge of her large, antique bed, my hands trembling slightly as I recounted everything that had happened earlier in the parking lot.
My grandmother listened in silence, her sharp blue eyes fixed on me, her face etched with both concern and quiet wisdom. She sat in her armchair near the window, wrapped in a soft shawl, her silver hair neatly tied back.
“So, you’re telling me that Samuel Graves approached you,” she said finally, her voice calm but firm. “And he wants you to help him bring Maximilian down?”
I nodded, my throat tight. “Yes, Grandma. He said… he said Max is responsible for Lucas’s death. That he framed me for it.”
My grandmother’s lips pressed into a thin line, her gaze never wavering. “And you believe him?”
I looked down at my hands, my fingers fidgeting with the hem of my sweate
