Eva’s Point of View
The room was suffocating, the air heavy with the weight of unspoken truths and unresolved pain. I stared at him Maximilian Graves on his knees before me, his once-proud posture crumbled under the weight of his guilt. The man who had once been untouchable, who had held my heart in his hands only to crush it, was now pleading for something I wasn’t sure I could give.
His tears were real. I could see the anguish etched into every line of his face, hear it in the tremor of his voice. But what did it matter now? What did his regret mean when the scars he left on my soul would never fade?
I took a step back, needing distance, needing air. The room felt too small, his presence too overwhelming. My hands trembled as I gripped the edge of the desk, my knuckles turning white.
“Eva,” he whispered, his voice raw, desperate. “Please.”
I closed my eyes, willing the tears to stay at bay. I wouldn’t cry in front of him. Not again. Not after everything he had done.
