Chapter 35

As soon as Melissa stepped through the castle gate, Alvin and Alvina were waiting at the door for their mother. They excitedly pounced into Melissa's embrace "Mom, you're finally back! We missed you so much!" "Mom missed you too, I'm sorry, Alvin, Alvina, mom was late." Melissa planted kisses on the cheeks of her two adorable kids, filled with remorse. "It's alright, mom, we played with dad this afternoon. He taught us to drive the toy train!" Alvin animatedly explains, his round eyes full of exhilaration. "Yes! And the little wooden horse, we played so many, many games!" Alvina too is extremely excited, she's still wearing her puffy princess dress. "Look, this is the fairy wand dad gave me!" Oh no, Melissa was only away for a day, and her two little ones are already being wooed by this cunning man, Joseph. "Wow, that's really pretty, Alvin, Alvina, how about mom plays games with you tomorrow, does that sound good?" Melissa gently tousled their hair as they walked into the living room together. "Okay!" Alvin and Alvina chimed in unison. "Did you two have dinner?" Melissa suddenly remembered to ask. "Yes, we already ate. Great-grandma had the kitchen save some food for you, mom, go eat quickly." Alvina replied with her innocent large eyes, she's very concerned about her mom. "Speaking of which, where is your great-grandma?" Melissa looked around and asked. "Great-grandma said her legs hurt when it rains, she went to rest in her room before dinner." Alvin answered like a little adult. He's a smart child who remembers everything. "Mom, great-grandma said you should sleep with me and brother tonight." Alvina's primary concern was this, she likes to stick with her mom. Melissa chuckled and nodded "Alright!" ........ Late at night, after Melissa had put Alvin and Alvina to bed, she began thinking about the thing concerning the cell phone video. To ruin Nancy's reputation, she didn't want to delay even for a day. She hoped that come Monday morning, the whole city would know about the wife of Liam from the Humphrey group hitting someone in public at a café. Melissa took out her cell phone, only to find the screen still blurry. So, she had no choice but to look for a working computer in the castle. Melissa got up from bed, quietly leaving the room of her little treasures. As she strolled down the dark hallway, a bit of panic crept into her heart. After all, the castle was so massive. It was quite eerie in the night, giving her an uneasy feeling. Finally, Melissa arrived at a room with a computer. Quietly, she turned on a table lamp on the desk. The room had a scent of pine and a warm hint of ink from the books. The items in the room were neatly arranged, and the furnishings were simple yet artistic. It made a stark contrast to the flamboyant and extravagant interior of the rest of the castle. It appears that it was a man's room. Without wasting time, Melissa quickly turned on the computer. To her joy, the computer wasn't password protected. Feeling fortunate, she muttered to herself "As God would have it, may the owner of this computer live a peaceful life." Melissa logged onto the personal homepage on the computer, downloaded the video. After watching it repeatedly and cutting out the last few seconds, she satisfyingly uploaded it online. The video had not been posted for more than a few minutes when the views had already reached over ten thousand. A satisfied smile came upon Melissa's face. Mission accomplished! "Perfect!" Melissa basked in happiness, clapping her hands without thinking. "Melissa, what are you up to, sneaking around like this?" The sudden voice startled Melissa off her trance. Lifting her head, she saw Joseph's deep eyes. They were not only deep but also filled with repulsion. Joseph intensely disliked those who tampered with others' stuff. "Can't sleep. Just taking a walk around your castle. Did I bother you?" While speaking, Melissa quickly closed the page she was uploading the video from and switched back to the news video homepage. To not leave any traces, she had to erase all the browsing history. "Insomnia?" Joseph squinted suspiciously at her, having no clue what scheme this woman was plotting. "That's right, insomnia." While saying so, Melissa unconciously let out a yawn. She cursed inwardly, damn, she was really exhausted today, tired and sleepy. "This is my elder brother's room, I'll ask you to leave please," Joseph said without any courtesy. "Your elder brother? So you have an older brother too, I bet he isn't as petty as you are." Melissa feigned innocence, as she needed to stay in this room at the present moment. "Melissa, get out of my way right now." Joseph's intuition told him that there was some issue with the computer, he walked around to the front of the screen. But Melissa sat atop the desk, covering the computer screen with her back. "I won't!" Melissa held on to the edges of the table & firmly refused to let go. "Do not make me physically remove you." Joseph threatened in a low whisper, he would not let this woman cause any trouble in the Clarkson family. "Why are you so annoying, all I wanted to do was to use your brother's computer for a bit, you're being so uptight, petty... " Melissa suddenly felt a force pulling her down, a hand grabbing at her nightshirt's collar, pulling her off the table as if she was a chicken. In her panic, Melissa randomly clicked the mouse a few times, resulting in a series of peculiar moans being emitted from the computer, the voice deep and resonant... Melissa turned her head, only to be met with a spectacle of a group of foreign men in a multi-X banquet! She might have accidentally clicked on an ad. Melissa awkwardly swallowed a bit of her saliva, but kept a straight face while turning to look at Joseph Joseph's expression was unfathomable at the moment, as if he was completely taken aback...
