Chapter 391
"Don't worry. I've got this covered. Even if Hayden gets arrested, it's no big deal. We'll just have Dad throw some money and make all this disappear. It won't affect the Sterling family at all!" Lily whispered in an attempt to comfort Morgan, not wanting him to feel bad.
But Morgan's face darkened, and he remained silent.
This only made Lily angrier. Glaring at Hayden with fiery eyes, she pointed at him, her eyes cold.
"Look at the mess you've made! I told you not to act like such a hotshot, but you still managed to piss off this innocent person! Do you just like drawing attention to yourself? All this for your girlfriend?
"So what if he took some pictures? It's not like no one else has ever done that! Ask her if she's ever taken a photo before. You're really blowing this out of proportion—I've never seen anyone like you!" Lily ranted, furious.
But these words didn't seem to bother Hayden one bit.
In fact, he just smiled. His lips curled into a smirk as he looked at her with an intense gaze.
Then, he extended the camera toward her.
"You might have misunderstood. There's no picture of Christina in here… because the pictures are of you," Hayden said lightly.
"What?" Lily's eyes widened in shock, her face filled with disbelief, as if she hadn't quite processed what he had said.
"I said, the photos in this camera aren't of Christina. They're of you! In other words, the person he was secretly photographing was you!" Hayden's voice was calm, his tone cold.
"What did you say?"
It was at that moment that Lily finally understood. She shivered, feeling both angry and anxious.
Immediately, she snatched the camera and started searching through it.
Sure enough, she found the photos.
With each one, her blood pressure seemed to spike. Her body stiffened like a block of ice, radiating a chilling air.
Quickly, she pulled out the memory card and stared intensely at Hayden.
Then, her eyes shifted to Logan. She looked as though she wanted to kill him.
"After all the nice things I said to you, you turned around and secretly took pictures of me? How could there be such a disgusting person in the world? How revolting! What, did you grow up without anyone teaching you basic respect?"
Lily was beside herself with fury.
At this point, she didn't care about her image anymore.
She squeezed the memory card with all her strength and crushed it in her hand. She was absolutely livid.
"Hey, now that the tables have turned, you're not so quick to throw out those snide remarks, huh? Wasn't it you who said 'things like this don’t happen for no reason.'
"Why is it that even with so many people in the fitting room, no one else's photos were taken, but you got singled out? Wasn't it you who said that people with bad reputations get their photos taken or that it's all done for the hype?" Jenny mocked, her tone sharp.
Each of her words was a direct shot at Lily, repeating what she had just said.
At the time, hearing those words had been revolting to them.
But now, they were coming back to bite Lily.
"Shut up! Shut your mouth!" Lily screamed in fury.
"I won't! Who told you to be so cocky and say worse things than I did? Now, I've only said a few words, but you already can't take it? You really are fragile. How pathetic!"
Jenny wasn't about to let Lily off the hook. She kept mocking her, getting back at her for Hayden.
With Jenny's words, the others in the room seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, applauding and cheering.
It seemed like they had all grown tired of Lily a long time ago.
