Chapter 400
In addition to Serena, James was also there.
The two of them had just returned and happened to run into Hayden and Jenny. But as soon as they approached, they overheard Jenny's words, which immediately put them on high alert.
At this moment, Serena and James both focused intently on Jenny, their eyes filled with shock and disbelief.
"What? Mom, Dad, why are you back so early?" Jenny seemed surprised, staring at them in confusion.
"Don't play games with me, speak up! What exactly did you do? What about the Sterling family?" Serena pressed, her voice stern.
James narrowed his eyes, looking at the two with a serious expression.
Jenny wasn't scared at all. In fact, there was an air of excitement in her eyes. She seemed like a warrior recounting her past experiences.
She began to tell them the full story of what had happened in the medieval town. She recounted the entire situation, explaining everything from beginning to end.
"Well, how about that? Pretty impressive, right? I protected Christina!" Jenny said proudly, a wide grin on her face.
"What?" Both Serena and James were taken aback, their expressions showing a mix of shock and concern.
"Do you know what you're doing? Why are you getting involved in this? Do you realize that that attacker could've gone further if Hayden wasn't there?
"You're just a little girl—what can you do to fight someone like that? Think about it! What if that 'photographer' was actually a dangerous criminal? What if he'd killed you?" Serena scolded, her voice firm and full of authority. She was genuinely angry at Jenny's reckless behavior.
"This is the first and last time! You're our daughter. We want you to grow up healthy and happy—that's all we ask for! Stop doing things like this because you can't handle the dangers of the world!" James' eyes were equally serious as he turned to look at Jenny, his tone firm.
Their stance was surprisingly united.
"What's so dangerous about it? Should I just ignore it next time I run into something like that?"
Jenny was taken aback, and her anger started to rise. She felt like she had done a good deed, even helped someone, so why was she being blamed now?
"You're just a student. Moreover, you're a girl! What can you do? We don't want you to be a hero. We just want you to be safe and healthy! That's what every parent wants. Remember, what happened today can never happen again!" James' words were stern, and he meant every one of them.
He was not joking. These were his true feelings.
Both he and Serena looked at Jenny seriously and waited for her response.
"I... well, alright..." Jenny lowered her head, her face filled with helplessness.
She hadn't expected that after doing something good, her parents would reject her actions like this. They were even scolding her.
After seeing Jenny nod and agree, Serena and James both breathed a sigh of relief.
As parents, they were deeply worried about their daughter, especially considering that as a young girl in society, she was vulnerable and easily exposed to danger.
How could they watch her enter dangerous situations or places outside their protection?
After chastising Jenny, both James and Serena turned their attention to Hayden.
