Chapter 406
"Hayden, you'd better watch yourself! Don't be so hot-headed next time. Even though Morgan's company is in competition with yours, I hope you'll play fair and avoid any underhanded tactics. Be an upright person, or I'll lose all respect for you!" Julia said before turning to leave.
But Hayden was momentarily stunned in place.
"What? His company?"
Hayden's expression faltered, his gaze drifting as confusion spread across his face.
Something wasn't right.
When did Morgan start a company? And why was it in competition with his? What did Julia mean by fair competition?
All of this left Hayden feeling puzzled and uneasy.
The change in his expression didn't go unnoticed by the others. Even Charlotte and the rest were dumbfounded.
"You don't know?" Charlotte asked.
"I don't know about that right now, but I'll know about it later," Hayden replied coldly.
He wasn't concerned. He would just look into it later.
As long as the company existed, it would be easy to find information on it. With business registries and online resources, nothing was really hidden.
"Hmph! So, you're pretending, huh? Are you trying to make us think you have no clue about this?" Julia sneered, mocking him.
The room fell into a brief silence once more.
Charlotte and Anna looked at Hayden, waiting for his response.
But Hayden just stepped aside and made room for them to pass. "Take care. The door's that way."
He didn't want any more interaction with them, even if they had misunderstood him.
This only made Julia angrier, her eyes seething with hostility.
"Fine! You're really something! Go ahead. Keep causing harm to society! You're a lost cause, and you're utterly disgusting. Sooner or later, someone will put an end to you!" Julia reprimanded him coldly, fuming.
What angered her most was how Hayden had turned into this kind of person.
She was deeply disappointed.
Charlotte and Anna couldn't help but glance at Hayden, shaking their heads helplessly as they left.
However, before Anna walked out, she gave Hayden a meaningful look. Her gaze was deep, and her thoughts were turbulent.
Anna had something on her mind about this situation, but now wasn't the time to address it.
She left soon after too.
Hayden watched them leave, his expression indifferent.
Suddenly, the conversation earlier came to mind, and he felt a spark of surprise. He immediately instructed an assistant to investigate further.
Soon, the assistant returned with a report. He said, "Mr. Sterling, we found something! Morgan really did open a self-media company. There are already several employees working there, but there are no streamers yet."
The investigation wasn't difficult, but digging deeper into the details would take more effort.
"I see." Hayden nodded.
This information was enough for now. It seemed that Morgan really did want a piece of the pie, just like him.
What remained unclear was his next move.
With that thought, Hayden fell into a brief moment of contemplation, his brows furrowing.
Though he didn't see Morgan as a serious threat, the man was like a pest. His mere existence would occasionally pop up and cause trouble.
"Keep an eye on them. If they make any moves against us, report it immediately," Hayden ordered.
