Chapter 250
Cassandra was fully aware that Ethan Carter would catch up soon, so she stayed on high alert, glancing at the rearview mirror every so often. The road was pretty empty, so she just kept her foot on the gas.
It wasn't until minutes later that she finally spotted Ethan in the distance, struggling to keep up—probably because of that injured hand of his.
She smirked coldly. Honestly, if Ethan wasn’t hurt, he might’ve been able to catch her. His racing skills were no joke, and his car was way better than hers.
Focusing back on the road, she smoothly handled the steering wheel, shifting gears and accelerating with ease. Even though she hadn’t completely shaken Ethan off yet, she was keeping a solid lead.
Once she hit the city traffic and passed another set of lights, she finally lost him.
She pulled into the G&K Financial Group and parked her car. The second she stepped out, the high-pitched squeal of brakes hit her ears. Without even turning around, she took off jogging toward the building.
