"I don't really get what you're talking about," Richard Johnson blinked in confusion. It was the first time Amelia Johnson had spoken to him like that—it almost felt like he was the kid here. But since he needed her help, he let it slide.
Amelia frowned slightly. "Even if Damien Taylor and I are friends now, I can't just do that. It'd be way too obvious. The reason we're close is because he thinks hanging out with me helps him relax. The guy's under so much pressure all the time—if I start talking business when he's trying to unwind, how do you think that's gonna go?"
Richard nodded slowly. "You're not wrong. But now that we know someone like him, we’ve gotta find a way to ask for his help."
"Dad, you can't rush this. If we push too hard, it'll totally backfire," Amelia said earnestly. "Think about it—Damien Taylor's not someone to mess with. If he decides we’re annoying, crushing us would be as easy as stepping on an ant. We really can’t afford to get on his bad side."
