Chapter 426
John followed Vivienne into the study. Vivienne broke the silence, her voice steady yet tinged with regret. "No matter how you look at it, our Smith family is at fault in this matter. Mr. Wallace, whatever course of action you decide to take, I will bear no resentment."
"I will pursue this through legal channels," John replied, his tone icy and resolute. "And Mrs. Smith, regardless of whether you intervene or not, I can assure you that your daughter-in-law, Leila Larry, will never see the outside of a prison cell again."
His words carried an unspoken threat: even if it meant pitting the entire Wallace family against the Smith, he would not let Leila Larry, who had harmed Mina, escape justice.
Vivienne observed the steely determination in John's deep-set eyes, and instead of offense, she felt a sense of admiration. If only her own family had someone as decisive, strategic, and fiercely loyal as him, perhaps the Smiths wouldn’t be tearing themselves apart over petty financial disputes.
