Her eyes flew open—just as a deep voice murmured near her ear, “Don’t panic, miss. I’ll get you to shore. There’s a doctor there—you’ll be okay.”
Kyle didn’t wait for a response. The moment he felt her heartbeat, he began swimming them both toward land, his strokes steady and confident, one arm paddling, the other firmly holding her close.
