When Summer Knight woke up, the room was empty except for her.
If it weren’t for that cup of cold water on the nightstand, she would’ve thought Grace Hill showing up earlier had just been a dream.
She shifted under the blanket, wanting to wrap herself tighter, but something felt... off.
Lifting the blanket carefully, Summer froze for a second when she saw the chains on her wrists and ankles were gone.
There was a flicker of confusion in her eyes... then a thin layer of tears welled up.
