Ethan Hart looked at how pale Lillian Barron was and really couldn’t bring himself to tell her the truth. He hesitated, thinking he’d wait until she recovered a bit before explaining everything.
But Lillian noticed the way he kept his head down, his eyes darting everywhere like he didn’t know where to look—classic sign he was hiding something.
No one knew Ethan better than she did.
“Ethan, you're hiding something from me, aren’t you? Where’s Sarah? Every time you lie, you can't even look me in the eye,” Lillian said, staring straight at him and calling him out without mercy.
Something was definitely off, she could feel it.
