Chapter 30
It was nearing midnight, and the party was finally winding down.
Cassian had been flat out all night, personally handling everything as the host. The guest list was long, and he barely had a minute to breathe. He couldn't stick around till the end-had to walk a few VIPs out first.
Before stepping out, he glanced back at the doorway and spotted Sabrina.
She looked delicate, way too thin for that skimpy dress in this chilly wind. Standing out there shivering, nose pink from the cold, she could've passed for a helpless little lamb.
But in reality-
Girl had just tripped up Simone in front of everyone without breaking a sweat. She was no lamb. More like a quiet porcupine, armed to the teeth.
When Sabrina saw Cassian looking over, her mind instantly jumped to that moment-the way he leaned over earlier, his husky whisper so close to her ear. The memory stung.
She shot him a glare like he'd just ruined her whole night, spun around, and stomped off like he was toxic.
Cassian gave a half-smirk.
