Chapter 39
When Sabrina woke up, the sun had already gone down.
She shot upright in bed. Everything around her was dead silent. Outside the window, the last rays of sunlight shimmered across the sea, so bright it was almost blinding.
Just as she was about to get up, she noticed a jacket draped over her. Smoky gray, looked sharp and cool - and it carried that familiar clean scent that could only belong to one man.
Her heart skipped a beat. She stood up.
The yacht was eerily quiet - whoever had been in the lounge earlier was long gone.
Stretching her eyes across the endless ocean, Sabrina felt a sudden jolt of unease. She rushed out of the cabin and glanced around-no sign of anyone. Her voice came out shaky. "Cassian?"
No response. The sea lay silent. Not a boat in sight. No land, no nothing.
It felt like she'd been abandoned in the middle of nowhere.
Panic started to creep in. "Cassian!"
Still no answer. She stood there, frozen, breathing unsteady. The only thing that made sense at the moment was
