"You dare!" Michael Sinclair shouted, rushing over—but it was too late. Cassandra Tate froze for a second, unable to process what just happened.
Joshua Tate had already slammed his full force into Cody’s face.
Total chaos erupted in the room.
Cody’s wailing tore through the air as Cassandra screamed, leaping to her feet.
Michael’s first move was a fierce kick that sent Joshua flying across the room, cracking two of his ribs on impact.
Scooping up the crying Cody, Michael shot Cassandra a pained glance. “Come on!” he said tightly, and they both bolted out the door.
Whatever yelling or cursing Monica Leigh and George Tate were hurling behind them—it didn’t matter anymore.
But just as they got to Michael’s car, he realized someone had messed with it—flattened the tires.
For the first time in his life, Michael felt a real urge to kill someone. If Cody weren’t injured, he probably wouldn’t have stopped himself.
Thankfully, Cassandra kept a backup car parked nearby.
