Lily wiped her tears and looked up, her eyeliner smudged a bit. Her voice was thick as she replied,
"I swear, Isabella didn't just fall into the sea by accident. And there's no way Uncle and Aunt Goodwin dying in that fire was just some freak accident either. This whole thing feels like a setup."
Caleb frowned, not following yet.
Lily fumbled with her purse and pulled out her phone. She opened a chat from the morning Isabella's family had their accident.
"Look, that morning she messaged me about Oliver inviting her whole family to a dinner at his mountaintop villa. But after what happened, the police said Oliver claimed he was out of town that night. Suddenly it's just Isabella who took her parents there alone? How does that make sense?"
