With Ethan Shaw’s identity, it wasn’t worth picking a fight here. Mr. Foster didn’t even hesitate to step in front of Liam Shaw.
“Third Young Master, please.”
Liam shot a cold glance at Ethan and Celeste Harper.
“Well, look at you all playing perfect little family. Like the mess two years ago just magically disappeared. Guess only the Shaws can pretend everything’s peachy.”
With those snide words, he let out a mocking laugh and walked off.
Inside the ICU, Celeste and Ethan stood silently as the doctors and nurses connected Edward Shaw to multiple machines. The monitor showed his heart rate was still stable, but his face was pale, drained of all life.
Ethan seemed calm, but his hands were ice cold.
“He’ll pull through,” Celeste whispered, tightening her hold on his hand. “Once he wakes up, let’s move him to that private rehab center. Liam won’t get anywhere near it.”
“I’m fine,” Ethan said flatly. “Don’t worry about me. There’s never been much warmth in the Shaw family anyway.”
