Chapter 421
Morning in Dragonvale felt totally different from Yannburgh.
At seven, Celeste Harper was woken up by a chorus of birds chirping outside her window. She lazily rolled over, only to realize she was alone in bed. That’s when she finally opened her eyes.
“Ethan… babe… I’m thirsty.”
No reply. After waiting a bit, she got up to check and found the place empty. On the table, though, there was a neatly arranged hotel breakfast still warm, with a note tucked under the plate.
“Leanne woke up early. Took her out for a walk. Make sure you eat when you wake up.”
The ink on the note hadn’t completely dried, so they must’ve left just minutes ago.
She stretched with a yawn, then plopped down at the table and started eating right away, not even bothering to wash her face or brush her teeth—comfy and carefree.
On the windowsill outside sat a bluish-gray bird, tilting its head like it was trying to figure out what was going on inside. It looked kinda curious.
