“But I don’t regret it,” he added, his voice genuine. He wasn’t apologizing for what had happened. There was something commendable about how he let his wolf emerge so freely, even if it meant losing some control.
He leaned back and reached for a backpack, unzipping it and pulling out a tissue. With careful precision, he wiped away his excitement from my stomach and wrapped it in a plastic bag, likely to bury it and keep it hidden from any curious wolves who might stumble upon it and catch our scent.

“Has she been here?” I asked, curiosity getting the better of me
