Chapter 937 Stubborn Old Lady
Seeing her grandson in such a state made Gladys Dawson anxious. She was so angry that she ruthlessly slammed the dragon head cane in her hand on the floor and admonished, “Draco Summers, aren’t you going too far by favoring the little beast, Tyr Summers?
“You must bear in mind that Kirin is the future of the Summers family while Tyr Summers is the scourge of the family!”
Draco Summers wanted to refute her. “Mother, the Summers family was only a few years old back then. What could he possibly do? Why do you blame everything on Tyr?”
The old woman pounded her dragon head cane on the ground and spat, “Master Kassius specializes in enlightenment. The result of the natal chart cannot be wrong.
“Tyr Summers is a calamity descending that will plague the Summers family. You want Tyr to return to us as a part of our family? Over my dead body.”
There was a furrow between Draco’s brows as his countenance turned gloomy. “Mother, you’re going too far. And we’re talking about Red Spider right now. It’s better for the Summers family to not come into contact with an unholy substance like that.”
“Bullsh*t!” The old woman cursed. “Red Spider was passed down from within the Imperial Capital Royal Family, and legend has it that they have developed the perfect Red Spider. They even use it to communicate with the legendary martial arts aristocratic family. And you’re telling me that Summers' family shouldn’t touch it?
“I think Kirin and Lyra’s research is going in the right direction. If the Summers family can study the perfected Red Spider, it would bring our family to new heights. Since Tyr Summers’ bone marrow helps perfect Red Spider, why shouldn’t we take it?
“He is of the Summers family bloodline. What’s wrong with him contributing his bone marrow? That is his duty.”
The old woman was an obnoxious individual. She hated Tyr to hell and back. However, she also said he had a unshirkable duty to the Summers family as he was of the Summers bloodline.
Wasn’t that a contradiction?
This old woman was too shameless.
“Grandma is right,” Kirin Summers hurriedly added. “Everything of Tyr Summers’ belongs to the Summers family. It’s all because my bone marrow isn’t suitable. If mine were useful in the Red Spider research, I would have offered it long ago.
“Tyr Summers should take the initiative to offer up his bone marrow. It is his duty.”
Gladys hastily remarked, “You are my precious grandson. I know you have good intentions. But extracting your bone marrow would be detrimental to you. I can’t bear to allow you to do that. So, we’ll just take Tyr Summers’ bone marrow.”
“You’re too kind to me, Grandma.”
“Hehe, you’re my only grandson.”
In Gladys’ eyes, she had long since ceased to see Tyr as her grandson. Her every word meant to doom Tyr to hell.
This old woman had a heart of stone.
Draco, who was on the sidelines, listened in on the conversation between mother and grandson and felt as though a knife had been cut through his heart. They were of the same flesh and blood. Why was this old woman so eccentric?
“Kirin, Grandma supports you in your pursuit of Tyr Summers. If you don’t have enough manpower, Grandma can lend Grandpa Yarn to you.”
The ‘Grandpa Yarn’ that Gladys spoke of was obviously the top fighter of the north.
Kirin was incomparably excited. If the old woman truly lent him Shaun Yarn to deal with Tyr Summers, wouldn’t this be an easy catch?
However, despite his excitement, he knew deep down in his heart that it wasn’t quite possible to borrow Shaun. He was a god that oversaw the Summers family. If the Summers family weren’t in a grave crisis between life or death, Shaun would not make a move.
But even so, Kirin’s still got excited as the matter of his research on Red Spider had been approved by the elder. He could now openly conduct his research. No one could stop him.
As for Draco Summers, to be frank, Kirin had not paid attention to Draco ever since Kirin came of age.
“Well, let’s put this matter to rest. Draco Summers, I forbid you from getting involved in the matter between Kirin and Tyr.
“Or else, be careful of losing your position as head of the family.”
Draco felt a tightness in his chest. He wanted to refute but found that he had no chance to do so at all.
In the end, Draco could only storm off in anger. His head was in turmoil. He had no desire to care anymore. He didn’t care about anything.
Anyway, now that both his sons had disowned him, they could do whatever they please.
After Draco’s departure, Kirin also left. He had suffered a big loss today despite the old woman’s support. There was a ball of anger in his heart that he could not vent.
When he went up against Tyr, he was going to win no matter what!
“Come with me, Lyra. I have something to say to you.”
Gladys glanced at Lyra Jade and spoke. Lyra hurriedly approached Gladys and then held her arm.
“It’s been a long time since we’ve talked, Mom.”
“Yes. I’ve been performing rituals all these years and have neglected you. It must’ve been hard on you all these years.”
Lyra hurriedly denied, “Mom, these are what I should do. I’m not tired.”
The duo walked out of the hall, facing the manor’s bright lights, and headed for the gardens.
The Summers family manor was huge and built like an ancient palace. There was a special ornamental garden built on its grounds. The place had a unique atmosphere even at night.
In the back of the garden sat the structure of a Buddhist temple, which was bursting with incense all year round. This was where Old Madam Gladys Dawson spent most of her time regularly.
“Your Grandpa Keane and I have two children—the elder son, Draco Summers, and the younger son, Kaplan Summers.
“Back then, both sons were giants among men. Draco was good at literature, while Kaplan excelled in martial arts. Kaplan especially inherited your father-in-law’s genes. He was highly accomplished in martial arts.”
Gladys suddenly spoke of their family affairs to Lyra, which had the latter surprised.
Lyra did not like the old woman talking about such matters. She was outwardly respectful toward Gladys, but she hated the old hag and couldn’t wait for her death.
Lyra spoke, “Youngest Uncle also has two kids. One son and one daughter. The son’s name is Xavion, and his daughter is Blanche.
“Yes, but look at the Summers family now. Dead and gone. How wretched.”
As she spoke, Gladys’ expression was bleak. “That year, your father-in-law received a mysterious invitation letter and never returned. And then my grandson, Xavion, went to look for him, but also never returned.”
