Scarlett’s POV:
Davis slapped a hand over his eyes like he couldn’t bear to watch—then sneakily fished out his phone, opened the camera, and aimed it at Everett.
Click.
Mission accomplished. He slipped his phone away with the ease of a seasoned pro, cleared his throat, and glanced around.
As expected, Everett’s move drew attention.
People were passing through the hotel lobby, and there he was—kneeling right in front of me like nobody was watching. The front desk staff peeked over. Even the bellboys paused mid-walk, clearly eager for a glimpse of the drama.
Davis swiftly pulled aside the hotel manager and seemed to whisper a few instructions.
After all, if Everett was going to go all out with this dramatic wooing style, it was still Davis’s job to preserve some level of dignity.
Following Davis’s request, the manager temporarily locked down the hotel entrance, stopping anyone from coming or going. Then he called security.
The guards formed a human wall, completely blocking off the loung
