Chapter Eleven
Leslie was still shocked by the turn of events. She couldn’t wrap her mind around how a woman would desire to hurt herself in such a fashion just to get some attention. It was…unthinkable. But it had happened.
She paced restlessly all day, waiting for them to come back so she could determine if she was fine or not.
While waiting, she called Stephanie to update her.
“How did it go girl? I’m sure the bitch was shell-shocked to the core, huh?” her friend said excitedly over the phone.
Leslie shook her head. “it didn’t go well. Things went out of hand, Steph.”
“You fought, pulled her hair, dragged her face across a rough wall because those are the only things that could be done which I’d consider good enough.”
Leslie sighed deeply and said, “Katie poured hot stew on herself and made it look like I’d attacked her. I’m worried.”
Stephanie fell quiet for a while. “Are you still at the house? I think you should come back.”
