Linda Walton gave a faint nod and didn’t say anything more. She was a patient after all—too much talking would only drain what little strength she had left. That kind of exhaustion? It hit hard.
Clara Walton and Nathaniel Griffith didn’t say much else either, not wanting to tire her out. Clara stepped out first, leaving Nathaniel to do a quick check-up on Linda. The room fell quiet soon after.
But even as Clara walked away, she could still clearly hear her mother repeating the same words to Nathaniel—“Take good care of her.”
