That line pretty much crushed the last bit of hope Arthur Blackwood had left.
For a second, something like disbelief flickered in his eyes. But Clara Walton—she was calm, almost too calm, like nothing could shake her.
“So there's really no chance between us. And don’t worry—I won’t ever act on impulse and do anything to Ethan. Felix has already gone back to New York,” Clara said smoothly, voice steady.
She looked Arthur in the eye, gave him a polite nod, clearly not planning to stick around a second longer than necessary.
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave.” Her tone was respectful, but firm.
With that, Clara stood up and quietly walked out of the private room.
