Clara felt like her knees were about to give out for a second.
Inside the office, after a short silence, Ethan’s voice broke through, low and steady: “I won’t fall for Clara.”
Graham raised a brow at that.
But after a glance at Ethan’s unreadable face, he didn’t call him out on it. Just gave a nod.
“Bet’s a bet. Here’s the proxy you wanted,” he said bluntly.
Ethan responded with a low “mm.”
Without another word, Graham turned and walked out of the office, and Ethan didn’t try to stop him.
By this hour, Clara would probably be back soon.
He reached out for his phone, getting ready to call her, but before he could dial, there was a knock at the door—then Clara poked her head in. “Sorry, I saw the door open and thought I’d come in. Did I interrupt?”
Her voice was light, her expression innocent as she looked between the two men.
Graham was unbothered. “Nah. We just wrapped up.”
