As he walks away, Rudy takes a step towards me. “Elise, we still have a chance.” I shake my head, tears welling up in my eyes. “No, Rudy. This isn’t the way.” He sighs, frustration clear in his expression. “Then what will you do?” I look at the ground, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on me. “I don’t know. But I can’t betray him, no matter how much he’s hurt me.” Rudy nods slowly, a look of resignation on his face. “Very well. But remember, Elise, you may not get another chance.” “No Rudy, you will not get another chance, but please keep testing my patience.” Sirius cracks his neck from side to side, glaring dangers at the back of Rudy’s head, but Rudy acts unphrased still looking into my eyes for a sign. “Sirius, this isn’t necessary,” I begin, but he cuts me off with a sharp gesture. “Leave us, Rudy. You’ll meet your punishment later,” Sirius commands, his voice icy. Rudy hesitates for a moment, then nods, shooting me one last look before retreating
