Chapter 590
"You're right, Ms. Sadler. I won't bother you any longer, then. Remember to have this while it's warm."
Mayra nodded. "Alright."
After finishing the dessert, she noticed that Brandon had left on his motorbike, so she went downstairs with her bag.
The maid was still cleaning the kitchen. "Ms. Sadler, it's getting late. Are you going out now?"
She carried her bag and nodded. "Yeah."
The maid assumed that she was going to see Brandon and didn't ask any more questions.
The cab arrived at the same moment, so Mayra got in and left.
It was still snowing outside, and after over an hour, the cab stopped outside a restaurant in an alley. She paid for the cab and hurried into the restaurant.
Once she opened the door, the warmth inside surrounded her. It was 9:30 pm, and there weren't many customers.
Gordon had his back facing the entrance, and Mayra tip-toed over before covering his eyes from behind. "Guess who I am."
"My girlfriend," he said with a smile.
He reached out to grab her hands and pulled her down to sit next to him. She sat down and reached both her hands out while he grabbed them to warm her up.
"Why did you come to Belchester City at this time?" she asked.
She was informed on short notice about Gordon's arrival and hurried over. She was in such a hurry that she almost tripped and fell on her way out of the house.
He helped to smooth her ruffled hair and noticed her cheeks were slightly red from being exposed to the cold wind. She was wearing the scarf he left in the room the last time.
"I was supposed to arrive tomorrow, but I missed you too much and decided to come now."
"I see!" Mayra smiled sweetly, her dimples showing. "I missed you too."
She leaned closer. Just then…
"Your stew is here. Careful!" The restaurant owner stepped out of the kitchen holding two pots of stew.
Gordon noticed what she was trying to do and smiled. "Eat first. You have school tomorrow."
"Alright." Mayra grabbed the cutlery and handed him a pair.
"Are you doing fine at the Sawyer residence?"
"Where I stay makes no difference to me. Mrs. Sawyer is nice to me, though. I know she's doing it for Brandon, but I don't care about that. Thinking of you makes me feel better."
Gordon understood her situation, and so long as she still loved him, he wouldn't view Brandon as a threat. Because he understood, he didn't interfere with her affairs and would never force her to do things she didn't want to.
Outside the restaurant, a group of thugs walked by. One of the people who had blond hair glanced inside and spotted a familiar figure.
"Hey, isn't that Brandon's girlfriend? Why is she with another man?"
Another thug looked shocked. "Damn. There's actually someone who dares to cheat on Brandon? Does she have a death wish?"
