“Captain Li, is her statement done? If it is, let her go. Someone posted bail for Miss Johnson,” a man in uniform came in abruptly, cutting off the conversation I was having with the officer.
Normally, even if bail’s granted, it wouldn’t be this fast—there’s a whole process. For it to move this quickly, the person behind it had to be someone with serious connections.
Could it be Xander?
Maybe he worked his magic behind the scenes at the station and pulled some strings for me?
