Henry showed up again barely ten minutes later, knocking on my door with a warm glass of milk. I had zero appetite, though, so the gesture just made my chest feel a little tight.
Xander called too. He didn’t mention anything about Henry’s scandal—just said Quyi was planning to bid on a new project and told me to prep the design drafts ahead of time for the client’s review.
Once we wrapped up the work talk and I was about to hang up, he suddenly got cheeky. “Sophie, don’t be down. No matter what, you’ve got it better than me. At least you’ve still got me, your backup plan. Sure, I’m not as rich as Henry, but I’ve got the looks and brains. Plus, I’m not out here messing around. If the paparazzi ever caught my first love, it’d still be you.”
