The other spoiled heirs circled their cars around, grinning like they were watching the best show in town.
"Come on, Mr. Graham. A bet's a bet!"
"Yeah, hurry up! We're all waiting!"
"There's no shame in losing to Y. What's shameful is making excuses in front of everyone!"
Their taunts were like slaps to Hansel's face. His jaw tightened, fists balled so hard his knuckles turned white.
In front of all these people, kneeling to a woman and calling her "Master" felt worse than death. And to make it worse, her damn voice sounded exactly like Nancy's.
Grinding down his pride, he leaned toward the shadowy figure inside the blinding red sports car and squeezed out a word between clenched teeth. "Master..."
His voice was barely more than a whisper.
The crowd erupted with jeers.
"What was that? Cat got your tongue? Louder!"
"We can't hear a thing, Mr. Graham! Say it like you mean it!"
"Yeah! Show some sincerity, unless you're begging for another race with Y!"
