Chapter 537
Without Murphy backing her up, Vivian's hands were tied. She was as helpless as a lamb that was going to be slaughtered.
I was about to continue talking when the phone beeped. Stunned, I looked at the screen and laughed coldly at what I saw.
"Did he just hang up on us?" Madison blurted, bewildered. Then, she asked, "What just happened? He hung up, so doesn't it mean that our plan will fail?"
I shook my head and, smirking, told her, "Be patient."
I started to count down. "Three… two… one… "
Just then, the phone started ringing. I shot Madison a look and refused to answer the call. I let the phone ring for a bit before declining the call.
Beside me, Vivian shivered in fear and anger. She was probably cursing Murphy for not coming to her rescue when I first called him. At the moment, she looked so petrified beyond words.
"L-Let me go," she pleaded in her trembling voice. "I won't do anything to get on your bad side again. Please let me go just this once."
I gave a cold laug
