Stephen had never gone to the courthouse with Luciana, so how could there be a divorce certificate?
A dull pain shot through his head, forcing him to crouch in agony. Then it hit him—the blank divorce agreement. His face instantly turned ashen as his body trembled.
"I trust you, Stephen. I trust that you won't change," Luciana had purposefully said that to him, but he hadn't paid attention.
The other bedroom door swung open. Liz stepped out, yawning, and froze when she saw him crouching on the floor. As soon as her gaze fell on the divorce certificate, she smiled.
"Finally! She's such a waste of space. My daughter-in-law should never have been a barren woman in the first place!" she said with a sneer.
Stephen's eyes darkened to a dangerous shade of red. His body trembled as his hoarse voice rasped out. "You knew?"
"Of course. I gave her five million dollars and barely managed to send her off," Liz replied, rolling her eyes.
"No way. She wouldn't leave me for just five million do
