Lila
Olivia and I were still chatting absent-mindedly when I heard the front door slip open, and footsteps pounded on the marble floors.
“Lila?” Lucien's voice called, making me still. I put my hands over my ears, closing my eyes and opening them again. It had to be a dream, right?
I wanted to slap the smirk that was on Olivia's face away. She was humming a hearty tone. “Seems like these two men would kill to have you,” she said in a sing song tone.
I didn't want to care about any of that. I didn't want to be emotionally involved with any of them. I had done that once, and it almost took my life, after making me slip into depression.
“Lila!” he called out again. I finally managed to pull myself out of the study, taking in the sight of him in the living room. He was putting on a casual t-shirt, jean trousers that didn't hug his skin so much, and white sneakers on his face. Hell, you might as well think he was going to play golf.
“What are you doing here?” I asked in
