Chapter 93
Zachary followed Asher out, closing the door as he went.
"You saw her. Juliet's feeling very emotionally unstable right now."
Zachary leaned against the wall and took off his gold-rimmed glasses. He pulled a velvet cloth from his pocket and began wiping them methodically.
Without the glasses, the sharp gleam in his eyes was no longer concealed. However, he switched back to his usual gentle look just as Asher glanced over at him.
"Don't trigger her for the next few days."
Asher tossed the crumpled cigarette packet into the trash can and said hoarsely, "She's my wife. Can't I visit her?"
"You can." Zachary put his glasses back on, concealing the sharp glint in his eyes. "But not right now."
He walked up to Asher and gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder. "You should wait for her to get better. Women are always prone to obsessing over minor things. She'll be even more annoyed to see you since she's already unwell. You know how people are when they're antagonistic."
