Chapter 21
The following winter, Gabrielle's health had fully recovered, and the results of her follow-up examination brought joy to both of them.
Jorvik took her to see the aurora borealis she had always wanted to see.
The biting cold wind swept across Gabrielle’s cheeks, and she pulled her scarf up higher, nearly covering half her face. The Norwegian winter night was bone-chillingly cold, but for the sake of seeing the aurora, such coldness was nothing.
“Hang in there, the guide said the chances of seeing the Northern Lights tonight are very high.” Jorvik handed her a bottle, the steam condensing into white mist in the cold air. “Drink some hot water to warm up.”
“The Northern Lights are here!”
Hearing the guide's voice, both of them looked up.
In the distant sky, a faint green band of light unfolded like a sheer veil. The light was faint at first, but as time passed, the green grew brighter and brighter, gradually transforming into a flowing river.
“It’s so beautiful…” Gabrielle murmur
