The door was closed, so Nancy couldn't enter the autopsy room. So, she waited outside instead.
After some time, Gabriel came over with the police officer from earlier. The moment the autopsy room door was opened, Gabriel marched up to the table and stared at my body. His hands curled into fists before relaxing, a motion that repeated several times before he turned to the forensic pathologist.
He asked, "Did you discover anything else about the body?"
"There's a very clear thumbprint left on the deceased's left arm. It was only visible due to postmortem swelling. We were unable to obtain any DNA samples from it, though. Besides that, there's also what we believe to be a wedding ring on the deceased's finger."
As the forensic pathologist spoke, he handed over a clothed tray to Gabriel. It had a delicate ring right in the center. It had been taken off by sawing the band open, given how swollen my body had been after dying.
