"I…" Sylvia began. She lowered her head and desperately told herself to be strong. But tears welled up in her eyes nonetheless.
"Aunt Willa said if Gregory wants the bone marrow, the remaining three million has to be paid to her before the donation procedure. Otherwise, she'll back out."
"What?" Margot's voice instantly sharpened. "Didn't you already give her five million?"
"But she wants eight," Sylvia replied.
"It's just a bone marrow donation. Five million in compensation is a staggering amount already. If she withdraws, you have the right to demand that money back," Margot advised.
Sylvia pressed her lips together, tears streaming down her face. "I know, but I don't want the money right now. I want the bone marrow, the one that can save my brother."
Having been at the company for so long and frequently dealing with the legal department, she knew perfectly well that Willa would lose if it came to a lawsuit.
But if she lost her brother, what good would that money do her?
