Chapter 26

Howls sounded in the distance, their songs echoing off the mountains. It was a beautiful sound but if it had any meaning behind it, she didn't know what it was. After the calling, in the distance, she could see many people moving in the trees and she moved to stand behind Arias as a much closer wolf howled loudly before turning and running off. Several men and women greeted various members of our group as we made our way towards the center of the, well, she didn't really know what to call it. The houses were spread out, not in all in any order though the center, smaller, identical one story houses sat in a circle, surrounding several long wooden tables. Children ran about, some sprinting and clinging to the legs of some of the men she had been traveling with.
