On the second day at the hospital, Serena was lying in bed alone, aimlessly watching TV, when Vivian showed up.
Even before she entered, her exaggerated voice echoed through the hallway: “Serena, I’m here to see you!”
Serena sighed inwardly—great, time to brace for more mental gymnastics.
She couldn’t help but be amazed by the Quinns’ acting skills.
To Vivian, Matthew calling off the wedding at the last second had been a huge public embarrassment. Not to mention, they weren’t even blood-related, and there was all that drama over Quinn Group’s shares.
Still, with all these tangled grudges and interests in play, Vivian could still put on a show of heartfelt concern.
Vivian sat down beside the hospital bed and grabbed Serena’s hand with fake sympathy. “Serena, you’ve suffered so much. These people are really bold, daring to go after you like this.”
