Chapter 349
Yesterday’s traffic accident had already left Serena Dawson on edge, and now this had her almost shaking. She slammed on the brakes, her face pale and her breaths coming in quick gasps.
“You okay?” Matthew Quinn asked, his voice tight with concern.
Serena shook her head slowly, still in a daze. “I’m fine.”
Face dark with anger, Matthew yanked up the parking brake and killed the engine. He stepped out of the car, fuming. She was driving his car today—one with a license plate known all over Westbridge—and someone had intentionally rammed into it. The audacity of it had him seething.
“Get out!” Matthew barked, pounding on the other car’s window. His hands clenched in fists as he thought about how shaken Serena looked. The rage in him burned hotter, and he wanted to do more than just yell.
The car’s window reluctantly rolled down, revealing a driver who looked like he’d rather be anywhere else. “M-Mr. Quinn,” the man stammered.
