Lawrence opened the liquor cabinet door as usual and took out bottle after bottle of alcohol.
He had drunk all the wines he had once treasured in the cabinet. And now there were several new batches.
There was no other way. Only when he was drunk could he fall into a brief slumber and reunite with Amity in his dreams.
Lawrence opened a bottle of wine, tilted his head back, and drank it down. Before long, the bottle was empty.
Yet he remained utterly sober.
After drinking countless bottles, with a pile of empty bottles around him, he finally felt a hint of intoxication.
In a half-awake, half-asleep state, he seemed to have returned to the past.
This time, he firmly pushed away Cynthia, who had feigned a fall in front of his car, not even sparing her a glance.
