CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY ONE – OFF THE GRID
Kayla's mind raced, considering their options, when a sudden commotion from the guard station caught her attention. Voices were raised, and she could see the guards scrambling, their attention diverted.
Without warning, Lance leaned across the table, his eyes fierce. "This is our chance. We have to go, now."
Kayla's heart stuttered in her chest. "What? But how?"
Lance's gaze was unwavering. "Trust me. There's a blind spot in the security cameras, a flaw in the system I discovered during my time here. If we move quickly, we can slip out undetected."
Kayla's mind whirled, the implications of Lance's words sinking in. Escape from prison, go on the run to clear his name and uncover Veronica's twisted scheme. It was insane, reckless, but deep down, she knew it might be their only chance.
With a resolute nod, she rose to her feet, her hand still gripping Lance's tightly. "Lead the way."
Lance's eyes burned with determination as he guided her towards the far corner of the visitation roo
