Somehow, they had managed to get through that night, Lucian had stayed beside Rhea without touching her and Cassian had watched from afar. He had ached to go closer but couldn't, his guilt wouldn't let him and his thoughts as well.
He remembered what he had heard outside, what his father said and now he was scared about what was happening or would happen.
The first signs were the lights - something was wrong. They didn’t go out completely, not at first. They flickered, once, twice, Cassian didn't think much about it - it could have been faulty wiring. He decided to ignore it.
Lucian said and did nothing. He had noticed the flickering lights but he refused to let it be a concern of his. His only concern was Rhea and staying beside her, making sure she was fine.
