Chapter 127 A SOFT WALK

Author's POV Rhea felt her heart stop for a moment when he said what he did. They needed to talk. She sat up on the bed, unable to lay down and act as if it wasn't open. Her eyes found him across the room. He looked troubled, even with his wet hair that covered his eyes slightly which he quickly pushed away. “I'm listening," she said simply. She didn't know what else to say to him. Cassian swallowed hard and moved closer to her. “You haven't asked me anything about the council's decision" he started, watching her closely to see her reaction but there was none. Her face was still. She shrugged, “Well, I expected when one has been made that I'll be informed. Or am I too inhuman to have that as well? Maybe my powers have rendered me non-human, it depends on what you think" she mocked. Cassian sighed to himself. He deserved her words even though they were cut deep like knives. “You would be informed. I just thought you would be curious about it you know” he finished, not meeting her eyes.
