ALPHA CADEN'S POV
“Where is he?” I asked, there was no response, just a bunch of trembling grown men looking at each other and then at the ground like they wanted it to open and swallow them.
I furrowed my brows, my face tightened into a frown, my hands clenched into fists.
I wanted more than anything to unleash my anger on them, wanted more than anything to make them feel my wrath, for them to experience my rage but then I had to remind myself of my father's greatest tenets “patience”.
“Be patient Caden,” my father would say as we stood in the woods, with the arrow between my fingers, my eyes staring in the direction of the prey and the bow firmly in my grip.
Be patient Caden, at least listen to what they have to say.
A leader who rules with fear is easily destroyed. Loyalty that stems from fear is weak so I do my best to be lenient with my subjects.
