Mae’s POV
I sit in silence, wrapped in my faux fur blanket on the couch while Henry makes me tea. He rifles through my tea options before asking, “Does peppermint sound good?”
My heart sinks at this clue that my gut feeling was right and that Henry is not my mate. Because the white Alpha would know how much Blaze loves Mora berries and would have offered that tea instead. “Peppermint’s fine,” I answer half-heartedly.
